Putting It All Together in an Electronic Portfolio
Dee B. Gudmundsen
Poster/Demo

Putting It All Together in an Electronic Portfolio details the process of creating an electronic portfolio to showcase materials developed during the student’s teacher preparation program. It is expected that the electronic portfolio will be viewed by principals and teachers interviewing pre-service teachers and is designed to run on any computing platform, whether or not the latest version of MS Office is installed. Two (alternative format) portfolio examples have been constructed from former students' excellent work. The new Package to CD feature of PowerPoint 2003 and free viewers for Excel and Word are used in one portfolio example and HTML versions of the student's work are used in the other portfolio example. I have tested this process and instructional document in my CIS204 Educational Computing class, a required course for pre-service teachers, during the Fall 2004 semester. Putting It All Together in an Electronic Portfolio.doc can be downloaded here and is included in the conference proceedings CD-ROM.
