At the Pauline K. Winkler Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic, we provide a full range of
diagnostic and therapy services in a college environment. Our clients include adults,
preschoolers, and children with all forms of communication problems.
     The Winkler Clinic is part of a graduate degree program which is accredited by the American
Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and is a New York state approved preschool
evaluation and service delivery site. As such, we maintain high standards in the provision of
comprehensive assessment and intervention services. All professional services are provided
using the most current techniques available.
 

Clinic Philosophy
     The Communication Disorders Department embraces a philosophy of clinical service delivery
that is consistent with the ethical standards, scope of practice, and current standards of practices
of ASHA. It is our goal to serve individuals with communication disorders in the most effective
and humane manner possible and to ensure that our students commit themselves to this fundaments
clinical value. Our department strives to foster the development of our students’ values to allow
them to hold paramount the well-being of clients and their families/caregivers.

    A variety of services are offered at the Winkler Clinic for adults and children with articulation,
phonology, language, voice, fluency and hearing disorders. Clinic programs include:

The Staff
    All services are provided by graduate clinicians who are supervised by faculty and clinic
staff members holding a New York state license and ASHA’s certificate of clinical competence.
Our faculty and staff are nationally recognized for their expertise in a variety of communication
disorders.

Fees
    The Winkler Clinic offers reasonable rates for its assessment and intervention services.
Hearing and speech-language screenings are available by appointment. Special fee schedules
are available for qualified applicants. Individual health insurance policies may cover part of
the cost of assessment and intervention. Free, convenient parking is provided.
