The Emery Center offers a variety of educational evaluations and services.
Educational
evaluations are offered in a number of areas including literacy and learning
disabilities as
well as psychoeducational evaluations. These evaluations include: a review
of background
information; review of school and school-related records; assessment using
standardized
norm-referenced tests as appropriate to the referring question(s); assessment
using informal
and curriculum-based measures as appropriate; oral presentation and discussion
of
assessment results to family; written report of assessment findings and
recommendations.
The Center also offers specialized diagnostic testing in the area of autism
spectrum disorders
conducted by Dr. Gina Cosgrove. Additional services provided include records
review,
consultations with educational staff and educational trainings.

reports, Individualized Education Program (IEP) documents. The evaluator will provide a verbal
and written report to the referring school or family.
Consultations with Educational Staff: Evaluators will meet with school personnel at Committee
on Special Education (CSE), pre-CSE meetings or other events to discuss and interpret
assessment results and make recommendations for educational interventions.
Educational Trainings:
Evaluators and faculty members are available to conduct educational
trainings in the areas of autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities,
literacy, and speech
and language.
These educational evaluations and services are provided
by the faculty and staff of the School
of Education. In some cases, graduate students may participate in the
process under the direct
supervision of the faculty supervisor. The Center offers reasonable rates
for services. Special
fee schedules are available for qualified applicants. Free, convenient
parking is provided.
